Stephen Miller came to California from Kentucky in 1983 while serving with the US Army in Monterey County. He quickly rose through the ranks and was offered an officer’s commission for his leadership skills and vision.
Unfortunately, Stephen didn’t yet have the required college credits. Stephen negotiated an early release from the Army contract (who does that?) to attend college and gain the required units before reaching the maximum age of 25 for officer candidate school. In order to meet this age limit, Stephen had to complete his AA in one year, for the 65 units he needed. He did so with nearly a 4.0 GPA!
It was there at college that Stephen took an elective class, called real estate principles taught by Larry Tilley, who was a local real estate superstar. Larry was a veteran of 15 years in Air Force service and immediately recommended that Stephen become a Realtor. Stephen started at Coldwell Banker with Larry Tilley as his mentor while still in college full time, and yet quickly rose to the top of that office and that market. His sales career was launched.
Stephen then spent several years at Remax averaging 6-8 times more transactions per year than an average agent, then closed tremendous volume at Kaufman and Broad new homes over two years and discovered his love for new construction.
Stephen then moved south to Redondo Beach in 1999 where he joined the independent, Shorewood Realtors, as a salesperson and an instructor of sales and internet marketing.
When Keller Williams came to Hermosa Beach and offered Stephen the Team Leader role for the Beach Cities market center, he accepted. With a focus on growth and a willingness to succeed through others, Stephen helped dozens of agents realize their true potential and grew that office from about 70 agents and little production, to more than 150 associates and into profitability.
After attempting to recruit her for 5 years, in 2009 Stephen married Tina Cisneros (a CB top producer in the Palos Verdes market) and they operate their real estate business together. Stephen jokes, he had to marry her to close her. That’s commitment!
Later they moved to Orange County where Stephen managed a Realty ONE Group office for a few years, recruiting, training and mentoring agents there to their highest production.
Stephen has a BA from UC Santa Cruz, and an Associate from Hartnell. He is an e-Pro, eAgent, Pre-Foreclosure Specialist, and a certified Top Producer instructor.
Over the nearly 30 years, Stephen has specialized in residential listings and sales. After closing more than 900 transactions, Stephen has learned that his true passion is helping agents realize their full potential through real estate sales. Now his focus us to pay it forward by sharing his knowledge and skills.
His mission is to teach those Agents that he mentors to save Clients from the traditional thinking agent, with traditional training, and introduce them to today’s modern style of World-Class Service.
Stephen and Tina have a daughter Brooke, who is 8 years old, and a grown son Andrew, who is 20 and attending UT Dallas as a pre-med student. Stephen and Tina love to attend Saddleback Church, spend time outside with Brooke at the park, the beach or hiking, and inside playing games and dancing. Hobbies include running, biking, singing, writing, and occasionally acting in film or TV.
